The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) will host a public hearing to discuss proposed alternatives for improvements to the Broadway Bridge that crosses the Arkansas River between Little Rock and North Little Rock.
The meeting will be held between 4-6 p.m., Thursday, August 23 at the Arkansas Transit Association Building (620 West Broadway Street) in North Little Rock.
The AHTD says there are increasing maintenance costs for the Broadway Bridge, and that the existing structure has been deteriorating.
Five alternatives for improvements will be presented during the meeting — four that involve construction and one in which no action on the bridge would be taken. Public is invited to view and comment on the alternatives.
